Cybersecurity trade conferences are often filled with unimaginative booths of swooshing white structures, sleek neon lighting, and large screens blinking with company messaging. During the conception of our booth, we pulled inspiration from our company's founding story. For years, our co-founders would meet at the back of a sci-fi bookstore in Brooklyn discussing ad fraud and the lack of understanding around it. Thus, HUMAN Security (formerly known as White Ops) was born. With that story in mind, we styled our booth space with sci-fi books, cozy soft seating, and a coffee bar to transport our guests back to that moment.
In order to weave our company messaging cleverly into the theme, our in-house copywriter, Rosemary Cipriano, and I worked with Cheyne Gallarde to concept and illustrate eight different posters about our products that were inspired by pulp book covers and vintage monster movie posters. We also produced a comic book fictionalizing one of our largest ad fraud scheme take-downs featuring our internal Satori Threat Intelligence team members.
